  • Marci Levine assumes the role of President/Executive Director at the Isle of Wight Chamber of Commerce, bringing with her a wealth of experience in executive leadership and community engagement. With a significant tenure in the Hampton Roads region, Marci has dedicated over 12 years to successfully directing the operations of The Hampton Roads American Institute of Architects (AIA), a prominent professional non-profit organization. During her tenure, she adeptly navigated challenges such as the 2008 Economic recession and the Covid crisis in 2019. Marci achieved multiple accreditations for the Chapter when AIA National implemented rigorous standards, earning recognition with a Presidential Citation for her unwavering dedication.

    Prior to her impactful role at AIA Hampton Roads, Marci served as the Farmer's Market Manager for Smithfield & Isle of Wight Tourism. Here, she orchestrated the seamless transition of the market from the Chamber of Commerce to tourism and established the first Farmers Market Board of Directors. Marci's advocacy extended beyond market logistics, as she successfully formed a partnership with the IOW Animal Shelter through the Chamber Leadership Class, bringing animals to the market to enhance exposure and potentially increase the shelter's adoption rate.

    Marci embarked on her professional journey leveraging her Bachelor of Science degree in Special/Elementary Education, dedicating nearly a decade to supporting adults with developmental disabilities. Following her graduation, she engaged with a diverse range of profound disabilities, eventually assuming the role of anEmployment Specialist. In this capacity, Marci excelled in finding employment and providing on-the-job training for her clients. This phase of her career proved to be exceptionally gratifying reinforcing the belief that one gains invaluable insights from those they serve. Her experience underscored the true essence of courage, tenacity, and the daily manifestation of kindness. Advocacy, Marci learned, is an ongoing commitment that requires unwavering dedication.

    Marci is celebrated for her instrumental role in cultivating enduring community relationships with diverse populations across Hampton Roads. Her commitment to community service is evident through her volunteer work with various organizations, including Symbiotic Inc. Rescue, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Habitat for Humanity, and the Luter YMCA, among others.

    Beyond her professional endeavors, Marci finds joy in spending quality time with her daughter, family, & friends. She actively engages in activities such as running, hiking,& gardening, photography, watching football, and participating in Smithfield Festivals.
